Room Service on a Cruise: Tips and Etiquette

No Tipping Required But Common

Room service on a cruise is a convenient amenity that can make your vacation even more enjoyable. But how much should you tip the staff who bring you food and drinks? While tipping is not required, it is customary to give a small amount to show your appreciation for their service. The amount you tip is up to you, but most people give between $1 and $3 per delivery.

Access Charges and Options

You can access room service by calling the number listed in your cabin or by using the app on your smartphone. You can also check the TV in your cabin for up-to-date charges. There are three options for tipping on a cruise:

1. Pre-Paid Gratuities

Disney Cruise Line charges each guest an automatic gratuity of $14.50 per person per night for regular cabins and $15.50 per person per night for concierge cabins. This gratuity is divided among the dining staff, room service staff, and other crew members who provide service to guests.

2. Cash Tips

If you prefer to tip in cash, you can give it directly to the staff member who delivers your food or drinks. You can also leave a tip on your nightstand or dresser.

3. Credit Card Tips

You can also tip using your credit card. When you sign for your room service order, you will be given the option to add a tip. You can choose to tip a specific amount or a percentage of the total bill.
